Garage Door Bottom Roller Off Track

This video shows an easy quick method for installing garage door rollers which doesn t require bending the track or removing hinges.

At that point you can use a bolt like a nailset and tap the roller edge back into the track. Look for the point that it is closest to going back in. If you notice that the rollers have jumped the track immediately stop using the door until it can be repaired. Pull the bottom section of the garage door toward the inside of the garage and remove the old roller.

Off track garage door rollers can also be caused by dirt and grime that accumulates on the track. Once you locate where the wheels on the door are jumping. To ensure that your rollers will run smoothly and don t run off course lubricate the track as well as the other parts of your garage door with a spray lubricant. It will be easier to replace the roller if you raise the door a few feet off the ground.

The other way to do it is to open the door all the way to relieve tension in the spring you may have to disconnect the opener. You can secure the wheels into the track by knocking the edge of the track back into shape as it was before you used pliers on it. All the moving parts of a garage door need to be aligned for it to work properly. You can then roll the garage door down to the next roller and repeat the exact same process for all four of the bottom rollers.

Ride the roller against the track as you open the door. Slide in the new garage door roller and insert in back into the track. A good household cleaning solution can do the trick for fixing this. If the track still contains the roller bend the track as shown in step four.

Reach overhead and pull the rope that releases the door from the opener. This will allow you to remove the roller from the track. Using pliers manipulate the metal on the edge of the track and slip the wheels back into the track. Wedge a flathead screwdriver between the roller and the track to pry the roller out.

Disconnect the garage door from the opener. Completely remove the old roller. Continuing to use the door when the rollers are off track can cause serious damage to the tracks or even the door itself.
